The Hills is what some people would call a reality television show. The Hills is a show that followed Lauren Conrad (LC) from Laguna Beach as she adventured out into the world going to fashion school and taking an internship with Teen Vogue. The Hills is filled with many kinds of drama such as love, work, and friendships. I was introduced to this show because I was a huge Laguna Beach fan. I actually wished that the Producers would follow LC and make another show which is exactly why I started watching this one. Because I do not have that much drama in my life (I like to stay far away from it) I enjoy watching other people’s drama. What better way to get my fill of drama than a show where there is boy trouble, new friendships appearing and old ones disappearing, and work difficulties? I would recommend this show to any girl between the ages of fifteen and twenty three but no younger and no older. Girls who are too young wouldn’t understand and women that are older I just don’t think they would be interested. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to any guys (or at least any I know) because none of them have liked it so far.

When I asked Joyce how old she was when she first listened to the radio she responded that she was around the age of 4 or 5. I then asked how her and her family members would spend time with the radio. Her response was that they sat down and listened to the music, news, and every Saturday night her and her father would listen to the Grand Ol’ Opry and she would end up falling asleep to it. The third question I asked was how the radio was different back then, than it is today. She responded with “The radio still digs into getting headlines, that there is a much more variety of music in the modern days, and that there were more talk shows back in her day.” Next I asked her what were some of her favorite shows and moments in radio history that she will always remember and she stated that she will always remember listening to Jack Armstrong, the Lone Ranger, news about World War II, VJ Day and VE Day (Victory in Japan Day and Victory in Europe Day), the Fireside Talks with Franklin D. Roosevelt, and she then confessed that like any other child she did not really pay all that much attention to the news. The final question I asked my grandma was what she would like the younger generations to remember about the early days of radio and although she did not have much to say what she did say was very powerful. Her response was for us to never take what we have for granted.

From this interview I learned that I am very grateful for all the new technology we have available to us today such as the computer, the television, the cell phone, and the iPod.

Technically I never “found” this album. My boyfriend told me about this song by Silverstein, Smile In Your Sleep, and said that I absolutely HAD to listen to it. He then asked me if I had even heard of the group Silverstein and of course I replied no. He was completely at a lost for words when he heard my answer and told me to get on my computer right away to look this song up so I could listen to it. I am not usually into the whole modern rock, punk, emo style of music but this song has changed my opinion about that particular genre of music. Now I listen to modern rock, punk, emo quite a bit more than I used to. I also listen to a TON of country, some rap, a little Christian rock, and much, much more. I totally love country music. There is a country song for every emotion a human can possible feel. Whether it is happy, sad, gloomy, loved, or lonely there is a country song that matches your feelings. My current song on my myspace page is Little Moments by Brad Paisley. This song reminds me of the way my boyfriend and I are and that’s why I choose it to be my page’s song. I tend to listen to a lot of my music on my computer because that is where I spend a lot of my time and if I am not listening to it on my computer I am probably in my car listening to a CD that I have burned or the radio. I get most of my music from other friends’ CDs or I used to get a lot from Morpheus.

Summary:
The Notebook starts off with an elderly man telling a story of two young adults’ life to an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s disease. Throughout the movie, the woman tends to experience flashbacks showing the audience the story of this young adventurous man and a goody-goody daddy’s girl as the man tells their story. Eventually the woman begins to realize who the story is talking about and what the story is about, revealing to the audience about her life experience.

I first saw this film on a DVD at my house. One of my ex-boyfriends had bought the movie and asked me if I had seen it yet and of course I had said no so he then gave me the movie to borrow and told me to watch it. I ended up absolutely loving this movie because of the way the story was told. Besides the fact that it is a really good romantic movie! I would definitely recommend this movie to others. This is a movie that one could sit down and watch with a girlfriend or boyfriend to bring them closer together emotionally.
